For almost half her life, a melancholy Boxer puppy has remained curled up on her cot at the shelter

Luna, a seven-month-old Boxer mix, finds herself in a heartbreaking situation. Due to unforeseen circumstances, her previous owner had to surrender her to the Chuck Silcox Animal Care & Control Center in Fort Worth, Texas on January 26, 2023. Since then, this sweet and playful puppy has spent nearly half her young life confined to the shelter.

A lovable companion

Despite her challenging circumstances, Luna exudes a loving and affectionate nature. She is a medium-sized dog, weighing around 42 pounds, with a playful and energetic spirit. Her previous living arrangements included sharing her home with other dogs, cats, and children, suggesting she is a tolerant and adaptable companion.

Luna is crate-trained and responds well to basic commands like “sit,” “shake,” and “down.” Her intelligence and eagerness to please make her a quick learner, and with the right guidance, she could easily master new tricks. In addition to her mental abilities, Luna is physically fit and enjoys playtime. A gentle scratch on her belly is sure to win her heart.

A desperate plea for a forever home

The shelter environment can be overwhelming and stressful for any animal, and Luna is no exception. She has become increasingly withdrawn, spending her days curled up in her cot, a clear sign of her longing for a loving home. Shelter personnel believe that Luna would thrive in a household without young children, where she can receive the undivided attention and care she deserves.
