Today is my birthday, and I need a forever home

Today was a special day for Chili, a small brown dog with bright eyes and a wagging tail. It was Chili’s birthday, and he had just turned four years old. But unlike other dogs who celebrated their birthdays with treats, toys, and candles, Chili had none of those things. He was a stray dog, wandering the streets with no place to call home.

As Chili walked through the neighborhood, he saw families with their pets, playing and laughing together. He wished he could join them, but every time he got close, people would walk past him without noticing. Chili felt a little sad. Today was supposed to be his day, but there were no cakes, no balloons, and no one to sing him happy birthday.

Still, Chili didn’t lose hope. His biggest birthday wish was simple but important: to find a forever home where he would be loved and cared for. He dreamed of a warm bed, gentle hands to pet him, and a family that would cherish him. As the sun began to set, Chili curled up on a patch of grass, staring up at the sky.

“I just want a home,” he thought.

Though the day had passed without any gifts or celebrations, Chili held on to hope. Maybe tomorrow would be the day someone would finally see him and give him the best birthday gift of all—a family and a home to call his own.
