Today is a special day for my sister and me. I love you all

Woof woof! Hi, everyone! It’s me, Max, the coolest dog in the neighborhood (or so I like to think). Today is a super special day, not just for me, but for my sister, Bella. It’s our birthday! Yep, we were born on the same day—different years, of course—but that just makes the celebration twice as fun!

This morning started like no other. I woke up to the delicious smell of bacon. Bella and I raced to the kitchen, our tails wagging furiously. Mom had made a birthday breakfast just for us! A little bacon, some scrambled eggs, and even a few pieces of cheese (our favorite). Bella, being the proper lady she is, waited patiently, but me? Oh, I was all over the place, barking my thanks and doing my best “good boy” pose.

After breakfast, the real fun began. Mom and Dad brought out matching party hats—mine was blue with little paw prints, and Bella’s was pink with sparkles. Bella looked elegant as always, but I felt like a total goofball. Who came up with the idea of hats for dogs anyway? Still, it made the humans laugh, so I went along with it.

Soon, our friends started arriving. Buddy the beagle, Daisy the golden retriever, and even Oscar the grumpy cat (who insisted he was only here for the tuna cake). We all gathered in the backyard, which Mom had decorated with balloons and banners that read, “Happy Birthday, Max & Bella!” There was even a doggy ball pit and a mini obstacle course.

The best part? The cake! Oh, the cake! It was shaped like a giant bone and smelled heavenly—peanut butter and pumpkin, my two favorite flavors. Bella, of course, insisted we take turns blowing out the candles (with a little help from Mom). I made a wish, but I can’t tell you what it was. Okay, fine, I’ll give you a hint: it involves endless belly rubs and never running out of treats.

As the sun set, we played one last round of fetch. Even Oscar joined in, though his version of fetch was more like, “You threw it, you go get it.” Typical cat. We ended the day with cuddles under the twinkling lights strung across the yard.

Before bedtime, Bella and I sat together, tails wagging as we looked at all the photos Mom took. “Today was perfect,” Bella said, resting her head on my shoulder. I licked her ear and barked softly, “It sure was. Happy birthday, sis.”

And to all our friends who came to celebrate, both furry and human: we love you more than all the bones in the world. Until next year, paws and kisses from Max and Bella! 🐾🎂🎉
